October 11, 2025, at the “Breathe Pakistan” conference organized by Dawn Media, experts and policymakers stressed that air pollution is a shared regional emergency requiring coordinated action.

AQA member Hon. Harshana Rajakaruna, MP emphasized that Sri Lanka is ready to partner with Pakistan — and with the wider South Asian region — to confront transboundary pollution through joint data systems, harmonized policies and regional environmental diplomacy.

SW-AQA’s president, Shazia Rafi, addressed regional panel, underscoring the global ripple effects of unchecked pollution; reinforced the core message of the conference — that only collective, cross-border solutions can match the scale of the crisis.
