Parliamentary Webinar on Tackling the Climate Crisis: Transitioning to a Global Green Economy

On April 22, 2021, AirQualityAsia in cooperation with US-ASIA Institute, organized a webinar on the theme “Tackling the Climate Crisis: Transitioning to a Global Green Economy.”

The webinar was inaugurated by Mr. Glenn Lau Kee Chairperson, US-Asia Institute with welcome remarks by Hon. Raja Krishnamoorthi, [D-Ilinois] Chair, Sub-Committee on Economic and Consumer Policy. Hon. Matthew J. Nolan, Treasurer, AQA, moderated the webinar. Ms. Shazia Z Rafi, AQA President and Convenor presented on role of legislators in UN’s SDGs 2030 framework and implementation. Hon. Loren Legarda, Deputy Speaker, The Philippines gave keynote address on legislating a green economy and adaptation/mitigation regulations on climate change.

Technical presentations were made byki Mr. Vivek Pathak, Global Head, Climate Business, Int’l Finance Corp. [IFC], Mr. Manish Bapna, Acting President/CEO, World Resources Institute and Hon. Satya Yudha Widya, Member, National Energy Council Indonesia, Senior Advisor, AQA.
